Environmental Life-Cycle Assessment of Product Delivery

Source: One Point Five

OnePointFive developed a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) model to calculate the environmental and carbon footprint of a consumer product company’s product packaging.

We worked with a company who wanted to measure the environmental impacts of their product packaging across its lifecycle as part of a benchmarking exercise to achieve a long-term carbon neutral goal.

We collected data from the company’s supply chain and measured the weights and material types of the company’s product lines. We reviewed scientific literature and LCA software databases to establish an accurate carbon footprint per product unit sold - through the product packaging’s manufacturing, transportation, use, and end-of-life phases. Alongside these efforts, we ran a sensitivity and scenario analysis to identify which of their products cause the largest environmental impacts.
